How Our wedding went along

- Aki leaves the house at 8am and goes Kashihara Hotel. They play with her hair and puts on her wonderful white kimono.
- Luc leaves the house a 10am and goes at the Hotel. He joins Aki in a small preparation room. He puts on the black kimono.
- Close family and guests arrive, Aki and Luc greets everyone.
- Aki and Luc are transported in an old car - they meet the photographer at Kashihara Jingu (See photos here)
- Aki and Luc greet the guests in a waiting room at Kashihara Jingu.
- Arranger for our wedding comes to great us and explains what will happen and how to be ready for the ceremony.
- Luc, Aki, both families and friends enter the shrine. (Inside a cameraman and a photographer are waiting with the Japanese priest and his assistants.) (See Full Video of Our Ceremony - 23:07 Minutes)
- We all sit down. Aki and Luc are greeted by a priest and three assistants. (Two japanese dancers and a ceremony assistant)
- The lovely couple drinks sake and say tells their vows for life and exchanges the wedding rings. We are now married (for the second time - we signed the Kashihara City papers February 7, 2007).
-  The priest gives us two big bottle of sake (Usually they never give to other new married but we had family ties with someone at the shrine).
- Both families are asked to take photos while our friends walk around the shrine.
- After the gazillions photos we now go for lunch (Aki and Luc hardly ate at all - everything was so well organized that we didn’t have time to eat most of the many course meal).
- Everyone greeted us in the small traditional Japanese house - we sat down and enjoyed everything.
- The music (listen to audio clips) we chose played in the background and we started to eat and drink. (See menu)
- After a few minutes, Luc plays a song on a Koto with his three koto teachers. (Video on Phil's Picasa website)
- Then we changed our kimonos to western clothes. (Tuxedo and Purple Dress)
- While we were changing the guests were looking at some pictures of us growing up. (Here is the Power Point Presentation Website)
- When we came back with our western clothes the song playing was Pretty woman by Roy Orbison and we improvised some moves and acts coming back..
- We sat down as everyone was clapping.
-  Friends of Aki made speeches and congratulated us.
- We than listened to videos messages from our friends in Canada. (Here is the Video Messages from Our Friends in Canada)
- After the video, we had more messages from students from one of my schools and 3 of my favorite teachers played their DVD. (I already miss my students and will always remember them. It changed my life forever).
- Friends took more pictures of us.
- Aki made a message to our parents (Paquette/Yoshida). She thank them for everything they ever did.
- Luc then read a poem that he wrote for Aki on this wonderful day. (I am Eternally Yours - Poem)
- Then Philippe and Toshiide (our fathers) made their speeches. (Read Philippe's speech here)
- Aki and Luc gave flowers to our parents.
- We said bye to our guests one by one, until everyone had left. It was amazing but it wasn’t over yet... We had a party at night in an Italian Restaurant. I don't need to tell you what happened precisely, you all ready have a general idea. There was a pianist, great food and all types of beverages/alcohols. (We then had the same video presentation and photo diaporama that we presented in the afternoon).
- Aki's friends gave us hair mask and Luc and Aki danced and kissed to the music of the pianist.
- We had a great time all night - it was the best day of our lives... and that's what happened on March24th 2007.
